Cardiovascular Technologists

Outlook

The overall employment of cardiovascular technologists and technicians should grow 10 percent, much faster than the average for all occupations, through 2032, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. More people are living longer, active lives, and with the growth of the aging population, more imaging will be needed to diagnose medical problems such as heart conditions. In addition, recent health care reform has given more people access to affordable health care. The number of patients for diagnostic tests and medical procedures is expected to rise in the coming years. Cardiovascular technologists who are certified will have the best job prospects.
