To work as a demographer, you should enjoy using logic to solve problems and have an aptitude for mathematics and for statistical analysis. You should also enjoy detailed work and must like to study and learn. Research experience is helpful. Other qualities that are helpful include intellectual curiosity and creativity, good written and oral communication skills, objectivity, and systematic work habits.
