In May 2018, industrial-organizational psychologists earned salaries that ranged from less thanĀ $51,080 to $197,700 or more, with an average salary of $92,880, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The American Psychological Association reports that some I-O psychologists earn $250,000 or more a year. Benefits for full-time workers include vacation and sick time, health (and sometimes dental) insurance, and pension or 401(k) plans. Self-employed I-O psychologists must provide their own benefits.
