Industrial-Organizational Psychologists

Unions and Associations

Industrial-organizational psychologists do not typically belong to unions. The Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology (SIOP) is a division of the American Psychological Association and an organizational affiliate of the Association for Psychological Science. It offers membership categories for college students and I-O professionals, publishes Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice and other resources, provides continuing education opportunities, and hosts an annual conference. It also offers extensive information on education and careers in the field at its Web site. The American Board of Professional Psychology provides certification. There are many local and regional organizations for I-O psychologists. The SIOP offers a list of such organizations at https://www.siop.org/Membership/Local-I-O-Groups.
