Volunteer at a hospital or other health care setting to get experience in and exposure to patient care techniques, medical procedures, and safety precautions. Take first aid and CPR classes.

Become a frequent blood donor and use the opportunity to talk to the phlebotomist who draws your blood about his or her job.

Consider joining HOSA-Future Health Professionals, a national membership organization for high school and college students who are interested in pursuing careers in health care.
