Registered Nurses

Unions and Associations

Some registered nurses are represented by National Nurses United; the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees; and other national and local unions. The American Nurses Association is a membership organization for registered nurses. It offers publications, continuing education classes and webinars, networking opportunities, and other valuable resources. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing represents more than 840 member schools of nursing; these schools offer a mix of baccalaureate, graduate, and post-graduate programs. The American Nurses Credentialing Center, along with many other nursing organizations, provides certification to registered nurses. The National League for Nursing is a membership organization for nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education. The National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing bills itself as the “voice for associate degree nursing.”
