Chief Trust Officers

Experience, Skills, and Personality Traits

This is not an entry-level position. Typically, CTOs have worked approximately seven to 10 years at their companies in lower-level positions in data management and security; risk management; corporate ethics; environmental, social, and governance; and related areas.

Key traits for successful CTOs include demonstrated organizational leadership ability; top-notch communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills; the ability to multitask and manage time effectively; and a high level of integrity. They also need strong ethics and knowledge of privacy, compliance, technology, legal, and physical security and cybersecurity as they relate to company operations and trust relationships with customers.
