Clinical Data Managers

Unions and Associations

Clinical data managers do not belong to unions, but they can receive helpful benefits from participation in professional associations. They have access to educational programs, certification, conferences, publications, job referrals, and networking opportunities, all of which can help enhance and advance their careers. The associations they may belong to include the American Mathematical Society, American Statistical Society, DAMA International, Data Science Association, INFORMS, the IEEE Computer Society, and the Society for Clinical Data Management. The Association for Computing Machinery offers many resources for data management professionals, including conferences and events, and publications such as XRDS (a magazine for students), Journal of Data and Information Quality, and ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data.
