Go-to-Market Managers

Work Environment

Go-to-market managers work in a high-energy, collaborative environment. They frequently meet with department heads to brainstorm ideas and address challenges (e.g., design issues, technical problems, staffing shortages) that may affect the launch date of the product or service. Go-to-market managers work a standard 40-hour week. Some evening and weekend hours are required to meet project deadlines. This career can be stressful due to constant deadline pressure, disagreements about strategy with coworkers, underperforming teams, and poor results after a product or serviced is launched. On the other hand, many GTM managers enjoy their careers because it allows them to exercise their creativity and project management skills, as well as work collaboratively with others. Of course, the best part of the job is when a product or service is successfully launched and their work generates strong revenue for their company.
