Certification or Licensing
The Association of Corporate Counsel offers the voluntary in-house counsel certified designation to applicants who complete a curriculum that targets three competency areas (stakeholder relationships, law department management, and legal services) and pass an examination. Lawyers must be admitted to the bar of the state where they want to practice. To gain admission, they must graduate from an approved law school and pass a written examination.
