Space Lawyers

Exploring This Job

Read the United Nations Treaties and Principles on Outer Space (https://www.asil.org/sites/default/files/documents/UN%20Space%20Treaties.pdf) to get a better understanding of the treaties and principles governing the activities of countries in the exploration and use of outer space.

Talk to space lawyers about their careers. Perhaps your school's career services office or government or social studies teacher could help arrange an information interview with a space attorney. Talking to a general attorney about his or her work will also be useful.

Join your school’s legal club and participate in summer exploration opportunities in law that are offered by colleges and universities and organizations such as the National Student Leadership Conference (http:// www.nslcleaders.org), which offers Government & Law, Law & Advocacy, and other programs.
