Avionics Engineers

Work Environment

Avionics engineers work for aircraft and aerospace manufacturers, airlines, and NASA and other government agencies. Most avionics engineers specialize in a specific area of avionics; they are also responsible for keeping up with the latest technological and industry advances. Their work is usually performed in pleasant indoor surroundings. They typically work full-time business hours. They occasionally work extra hours to monitor the progress of projects, oversee design standards during production, participate in test flights or first flights, and to make sure deadlines are met.
