Cytogenetic Technologists

Unions and Associations

Cytogenetic technologists who are employed by government agencies can be members of unions like the American Federation of Government Employees. Technologists have access to education, certification, workshops, and other resources through professional associations such as the Association of Genetic Technologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the American Society for Cytotechnology, and the American Society of Cytopathology. The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs accredits cytotechnology and other health care educational programs.
