Machine learning engineers do not belong to unions, but they can obtain useful resources and professional support from the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). Members receive AI Magazine and discounts on AAAI conferences, get access to networking opportunities, and are eligible for scholarships. Additionally, the organization’s Web site offers job listings and AITopics, which features useful articles about AI and machine learning. Other useful organizations include the Artificial Intelligence Board of America, Association for Advancing Automation, Association for Computing Machinery, Association for Women in Computing, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour, Women in AI, and Women in Machine Learning. Local and state-level AI associations also provide useful resources, including networking and professional development opportunities.
