Nuclear Medicine Physicians

Unions and Associations

Most physicians do not belong to unions, but some may be represented by the Doctors Council SEIU and the Union of American Physicians and Dentists.

Nuclear medicine physicians are represented by the American Medical Association (AMA), which is the largest association of physicians and medical students in the United States. The AMA helps students with finding financial aid, choosing a specialty, and understanding important issues such as medical ethics. Doctors of osteopathic medicine often join the American Osteopathic Association. The Association of American Medical Colleges is a not-for-profit association representing all accredited U.S. medical schools and represents the schools, students and residents. Other organizations that offer physician standards, education, career support, community, and other resources for nuclear medicine physicians include the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
