Outlook
The U.S. Department of Labor does not provide an employment outlook for building performance diagnosticians, but it does report that employment in all engineering and architecture professions will increase faster than the average for all careers from 2023 to 2033. Demand will be good for BPDs as a result of growing interest in energy-efficient systems in both new residential and commercial structures, as well as a need to assess and improve performance issues in existing homes, businesses, factories, and other buildings. Building performance diagnosticians with considerable experience and certification will have the best job prospects.
