Citizenship Reclamation Specialists

Work Environment

Citizenship reclamation specialists conduct research on the internet in home offices, as well as in libraries, municipal records facilities, church archives, and other places where records are kept. They typically set their own hours unless they are salaried employees of law firms or citizenship reclamation firms. This work can be frustrating because specialists often hit dead ends in their research (due to lost or destroyed records), and they may encounter information about their client’s ancestors that may be troubling or depressing. On the other hand, citizenship reclamation specialists find it rewarding when they can help their clients regain their connection to their historical homelands.
