Community Health Program Coordinators

Work Environment

Many community health program coordinators work a standard 9-to-5, Monday through Friday week, while others also work at night and on weekends. Coordinators occasionally travel to meet with elected officials, community activists, and health care and social service providers. This career is occasionally challenging when a coordinator has to deal with unhappy members of the community, underperforming staff, or demanding stakeholders. But many CHPCs find this career rewarding because it allows them to directly improve the health and well-being of communities.
