Directors of Telehealth

Employment Prospects

Employers

Telehealth coordinators work for private and public sector hospitals and other medical services providers that are developing or currently using telehealth systems. They also are employed by companies that provide telehealth services to hospitals, offices of physicians, and other health care providers.

Starting Out

This is not an entry-level position. Most aspiring directors obtain at least six years of experience in lower-level telehealth positions. Some also have backgrounds in information technology, health care, or business. Aspiring and current telehealth directors learn about job openings by networking, using the services of recruiters, attending career fairs, and visiting the career pages of target employers.
