Directors of Telehealth

Since this is an executive-level position, there are fewer opportunities for advancement. A telehealth director can advance by receiving pay raises and performance bonuses, or they can choose to work for a larger and more prestigious employer (which also usually translates into higher pay, better benefits, and more lucrative bonuses). A director may advance to the position of chief medical officer, who oversees the operation of a hospital or health system. A director with strong IT skills might launch a company that develops telehealth software and hardware, or they may start a consulting firm that provides expertise to users of telehealth systems. Others become college professors.
