Precision Medicine Specialists

Work Environment

Precision medicine researchers spend much of their time in laboratories—designing and conducting experiments and assessing their results. Those who work as physicians or in other clinical care positions interact regularly with patients. Since hospitals are open 24/7, they may be required to work evening and weekend shifts. Some precision medicine specialists work as educators at colleges and universities. They typically work during the school year, and have summers off (although some conduct research or continue teaching during this time).
