Biomass Power Plant Managers

Certification, Licensing, and Special Requirements

Certification or Licensing

Certification is not required to work as a biomass power plant manager. Those who receive certification in specialized areas, however, prove to employers that their knowledge and skill levels are up to date. For instance, power plant managers who work with electrical equipment can get certification through the North American Electric Reliability Corporation's System Operator Certification Program. The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) offers a variety of certification credentials (e.g., certified energy manager, certified renewable energy professional, certified industrial energy professional). AEE certification candidates must meet specific requirements for work experience and pass an examination. The American Society of Quality offers certification programs in areas such as quality management and quality inspection.
