Chief Customer Officers

Experience, Skills, and Personality Traits

Typically, CCOs have worked approximately eight years at their companies before being promoted to their current job. Some individuals held prior positions as division presidents or general managers. Still others had experience in marketing, sales, or operations.

Chief customer officers should be detail-oriented, creative individuals with experience planning, organizing, managing, and implementing projects. Strong leadership skills are essential. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are required. A strong understanding and dedication to customer service is also necessary.
