Chief Customer Officers

Outlook

The U.S. Department of Labor does not project job growth specifically for chief customer officers, but it predicts that employment for top executives will grow by 6 percent through 2033, which is faster than the average. It is difficult to predict future demand for chief customer officers. The position may not exist at small companies. It is more often found in large corporations. Growth will be driven by the formation of new positions at companies that see a need to better manage customer relations and in new organizations.

The Chief Customer Officer Council reports that the CCO role is "evolving into more of a 'chief customer strategy officer' [position], focused primarily upon driving profitable customer strategy at all levels of the company with the express goal of acquiring, retaining, and serving the right customers for greater profits."
