Informatics Nurse Specialists

The average salary for nursing informatics specialists was $84,693 in January 2018, according to PayScale.com. Salaries ranged from $63,000 to $110,000 or more. The U.S. Department of Labor does not provide information specifically for nursing informatics specialists but has data for computer systems analysts, who share some of the same skills and job tasks as informatics specialists. In May 2019, computer systems analysts earned a median salary of $90,920. The lowest 10 percent earned $55,180 or less and the top 10 percent earned $147,670 or more. Median earnings for medical records and health information technicians (another related career) were $42,630 in 2019 with, the lowest 10 percent earning $27,820 and the highest 10 percent $71,150.
