Medical Screeners

Work Environment

Most medical screeners work in pleasant medical facilities. Since hospitals operate 24/7, screeners who work in this setting may have to work at night and on weekends. It can be stressful to interact with people who are ill or otherwise under stress, but most medical screeners find that their careers are rewarding because it gives them a chance to help others. Medical screeners may be exposed to infectious diseases as part of their work, but health providers require their employees to don protective gear and follow strict safety guidelines to reduce the chance of disease transmission.
