Geological and petroleum technicians earned $28,020 to $108,110 or more per year.

Benefits depend on the employer but generally include paid vacations and holidays, sick leave, medical and dental insurance, profit sharing, 401(k) plans, and tuition assistance programs for further education. If metallurgical technicians belong to a union, their wages and benefits depend on the union agreement.
