In February 2025, ZipRecruiter.com reported the average annual salary for metallurgical technicians was $44,969. Salaries ranged from $32,500 or less to $66,500 or more. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) does not provide statistics specific to metallurgical technicians. In May 2023, the DOL reported that chemical technicians, a job that is similar in scope, had median incomes of $56,750, with salaries ranging from $38,240 to more than $93,340. Petroleum and coal products technicians averaged $80,140 more per year.
