Biological scientists' salaries in May 2023 ranged from less than $52,230 to $158,730 or more, with a median annual salary of $91,100. Annual salaries for soil and plant scientists ranged from less than $43,790 to $119,410 or more, with a median annual salary of $68,240. Biological technicians had median incomes of $51,430, with salaries ranging from less than $36,970 to $80,330 or more. Agricultural technicians earned less than $30,750 to $65,470 or more per year, with a median annual salary of $43,180.

Industrial production managers earned median annual incomes of $116,970 in May 2023, with the bottom 10 percent bringing home $72,010 or less, and the top 10 percent earning $190,480 or more. Construction managers had annual salaries ranging from less than $64,480 to $172,040 or more, with median incomes of $104,900. Construction laborers' salaries ranged from less than $31,510 for the bottom 10 percent, to $76,010 or higher for the top 10 percent, with a median annual salary of $45,300.

Engineers' salaries varied, depending on their specialty. For example, in May 2023, environmental engineers earned annual incomes ranging from less than $63,370 to $156,530 or more, with a median annual salary of $100,090. On the other hand, agricultural engineers brought home less than $62,150 to $127,590 or more each year with a median annual salary of $88,750; and chemical engineers earned less than $75,650 to $176,420 or more annually with a median annual salary of $112,100.

Bioenergy/biofuels workers who are employed full time receive benefits such as vacation days, sick leave, health and life insurance, and a savings and pension program. Self-employed workers must provide their own benefits.
