Bioenergy/Biofuels Workers

Some bioenergy and biofuels workers may be members of a union, such as the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (http://www.ifpte.org). The Renewable Fuels Association is the major organization for workers in the field. It provides useful statistics (on annual ethanol production and other topics), publications (such as the Ethanol Industry Outlook), and other resources. Other noteworthy organizations include the American Chemical Society (which provides a variety of resources for students), American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, American Institute of Biological Sciences, American Institute of Constructors, American Society for Engineering Education, American Society of Agronomy, APICS–The Association for Operations Management, Biotechnology Innovation Organization, and the Biotechnology Institute.
