Digital Agents

History

As the Internet and the world of digital media have grown in leaps and bounds over the past two decades, the industry professionals responsible for innovations in Internet and computer technology, as well as developing digital media (e.g., computer games, animations, videos), became highly sought after by private companies, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. Their expertise often translated into huge profits and steady performance for companies and other organizations wise enough to hire the best workers. As demand grew for their services, agents began to represent computer professionals—locating the most lucrative and rewarding positions for their clients. These agents eventually became known as digital agents. Although the digital agent's job is relatively new, the expanding use of increasingly complex computers and the Internet in the workplace, the growth of digital and social media, and the public’s increasing interest in digital entertainment suggests that digital agents will continue to be in strong demand in coming years.
