Digital Identity Managers

High School

Learn as much as you can about cybersecurity and the Internet, and take computer science and data science courses to build your skills. Since managers must be top-notch communicators, you should also take English, speech, and writing courses. Other recommended courses include mathematics, psychology, and social studies.

Postsecondary Education

You will need a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related computer field to enter this career. Students also complete internships and other experiential learning opportunities to obtain hands-on experience. Some managers also earn master’s degrees in business management or project management.

Certification

The EC-Council University offers a four-week certificate program in identity and access management to students who complete 14 educational modules and pass an examination. Visit https://www.eccu.edu/center-of-professional-education for more information.

Many colleges and universities offer undergraduate and graduate certificates in cybersecurity, and some offer certificates in identity management.
