Mobile Software Developers

Exploring This Job

Talk with mobile software developers about their careers. Ask your computer science teacher or a school counselor for help in arranging an information interview. If you make a strong connection, perhaps a developer will let you spend a day shadowing him or her on the job.

Create your own basic mobile apps. Many Web sites (including YouTube) provide instructions on how to design basic apps. Once you feel confident about your work, consider posting screenshots at Dribble (https://dribbble.com), a community of designers that provides feedback and support to other design professionals. The site is also a good place to check out the work of others and get some inspirations from fellow artists.

Join the Technology Student Association, which provides students the opportunity to explore career opportunities in technology, science, engineering, and mathematics, enter academic competitions (including one in software development), and participate in summer exploration programs.
