Work Environment

Many tech companies enjoy a reputation for having casual work environments (i.e., flexible hours, relaxed dress codes, telecommuting, etc.). Developers often share office or cubicle space with two or three coworkers, as a means to encourage collaboration and team spirit. Work hours vary by employer, but work at night and on weekends may be required when deadlines are looming. This career can be stressful when project deadlines are missed, an app a team has worked on for months or even years is panned by users and reviewers, or when glitches in programming languages or during the testing stage cause unexpected challenges and production delays.
