Directors of security spend most of their time in offices at the headquarters of the organization for which they work. If the organization has more than one location, they may visit each location to check on their security or safety issues and to assure compliance. Individuals in this line of work typically keep regular business hours, but they may need to work longer hours or come in at odd times to respond to emergencies. Additionally they may be on-call after hours.
