Geotechnical Engineers

Some engineers may be represented by the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers and other unions. In addition, many other organizations provide useful resources. The American Society of Civil Engineers is the major professional association for geotechnical engineers. It provides career and education information, certification, publications, continuing education, and other resources. The International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering is an organization of international engineering associations. Geotechnical engineers can also join state and local organizations, such as the California Geotechnical Engineering Association.
