Medical Robotics Technicians

Certification, Licensing, and Special Requirements

Certification or Licensing

There is no specialized certification available for medical robotics technicians, but some techs become certified in electrics or electronics engineering or other fields. ETA International (https://www.etai.org) offers certification for biomedical electronics technicians and biomedical imaging equipment technicians. The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (https://aami.org) offers certification programs for biomedical equipment technicians. It offers credentials such as certified associate in biomedical technology, certified biomedical equipment technician, certified radiology equipment specialist, and certified healthcare technology manager. Medical robotics technicians do not need to be licensed.
