Metaverse Developers

Exploring This Job

Learn as much as you can about the metaverse while in high school and college. The Blockchain Council offers more than 40 articles about metaverse technologies and potential career paths on its Web site, https://www.blockchain-council.org/category/metaverse. TechTarget also offers a useful metaverse primer at https://www.techtarget.com/whatis/feature/The-metaverse-explained-Everything-you-need-to-know.

If you’re age 13 or older, create an avatar and explore the metaverse. But talk with your parents before you use it and be sure to take advantage of teen privacy and security settings that are offered by Meta, Roblox, and other metaverse providers.

One of the best ways to explore this career is to learn programming languages that are frequently used by metaverse developers. These include C++, C#, Python, and Java. Your high school’s computer science department may provide programming classes. Online learning platforms (OLPs) offer free or low-cost classes in coding. Here are a few OLPs to check out: Code Academy (https://www.codecademy.com), Coursera (https://www.coursera.org), edX (https://www.edx.org), and Khan Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org). You should also become familiar with AR, VR, and mixed reality (MR), as well as artificial intelligence (AI), because they play an important role in the creation and operation of metaverses.
