Neuropsychologists and Clinical Neuropsychologists

Neuropsychologists work in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and physicians' offices. They may work in private practice in their own offices or as consultants. Some work as researchers in government agencies. Those who are employed as college or university teachers usually have offices in a building on campus and access to a laboratory in which they carry out experiments. Neuropsychologists typically work 40 hours per week. Those who work for hospitals and health care facilities may have work hours in the evening and on weekends. Those who work for government agencies, schools, or corporations usually work during business hours. Independent consultants set their own schedules. Travel may be required at times to meet with patients and to attend conferences and workshops.
