Unions and Associations

Some psychologists belong to unions that specifically serve those in the government or education sectors. Professional associations that provide useful resources (publications, continuing education, networking opportunities, etc.) include the American Psychological Association, National Association of School Psychologists, American College of Forensic Psychology, and the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology. The American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Board of Forensic Psychology provide certification to psychologists. The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards is an organization of psychology licensing boards in the U.S. and Canada. The Canadian Psychological Association represents the professional interests of psychologists in Canada.
