Biomass Plant Technicians

Advancement Prospects

After several years of on-the-job training, entry-level biomass plant technicians advance by working with less supervision and gradually receive more decision-making authority. They move up to become supervisors, overseeing the work of junior technicians and managing biomass plant technician teams. They may expand their knowledge by pursuing higher education through a bachelor's or master's degree program and securing certification. Experienced biomass plant technicians may teach in vocational schools and colleges and speak at industry-related conferences and events. With additional training and extensive experience, they may become biomass power plant managers.
