Industrial Engineering Technicians

Outlook

Little or no change in employment is expected for industrial engineering technicians through 2028, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, primarily because of expected declines in manufacturing industries, such as semiconductor and other electronic components, rubber products, and steel products. Opportunities will be best for individuals who have up-to-date skills. As technology becomes more sophisticated, employers will continue to seek technicians who require the least amount of additional job training.
