Manufacturing Engineering Technologists

Manufacturing engineering technologists will have slower than average employment through 2028, according to the Occupational Information Network. However, manufacturers will continue to need engineering technologists to monitor and develop manufacturing machinery and processes that improve productivity while reducing costs and maintaining product quality. Employment growth also depends upon the industries in which engineering technologists work. For example, the computer and electronic products, chemical, and primary metal manufacturing industries are expected to have slow growth and employment is projected to decrease through 2028.
