Work Environment

Manufacturing engineering technologists work full-time hours, usually 40 hours per week. They work indoors in manufacturing facilities. They spend part of their time in the locations where products are manufactured or services delivered, and part of their time in offices. They may also travel to work sites to observe and monitor manufacturing machinery and processes. The job can present hazards at times, particularly when working near heavy equipment. Manufacturing engineering technologists wear protective gear such as helmets and safety goggles when working at manufacturing production sites.
