Behavioral Health Technicians employed in the U.S. in 2021 earned salaries that ranged from $31,000 to $83,000, according to a survey by The national average salary for this profession was $50,686. The Department of Labor reported that psychiatric technicians, a job that has similar duties and goals to that of behavioral health technicians, earned salaries that ranged from $24,960 to $59,020 in May 2020. Those that worked for state governments, excluding education and hospitals, earned higher salaries ($47,290) than those who worked for residential mental health and substance abuse facilities ($31,520).
