Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners

Advancement Prospects

A clinical pharmacist practitioner can advance by becoming the head of a clinical department, by launching their own consulting firm, or by becoming a college professor. With additional training, a pharmacist can become a pharmacologist, who studies the effects of drugs, chemicals, and other substances on humans, animals, and plants. Many consider this last option to be more of a lateral move than a form of advancement.
