Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners

Unions and Associations

Clinical pharmacists practitioners do not belong to unions, but they can join professional associations such as the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Pharmacists Association, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. These organizations provide continuing education opportunities, resources for pharmacy students, publications, networking events, career advice, and more. The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredits professional degree programs in pharmacy and providers of continuing pharmacy education. The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy is a membership organization of more than 140 schools of pharmacy that are accredited by the ACPE, as well as individual members (including pharmacy school administrators, faculty, and staff). The Board of Pharmacy Specialties provides certification to pharmacists.
