Certification or Licensing

The Patient Advocate Certification Board offers the board certified patient advocate credential to applicants who have a combination of education and experience and pass an examination (which consists of 150 multiple-choice questions). The board says that "candidates who are seasoned practitioners may request eligibility based on experience only." Visit https://www.pacboard.org for more information. There are no licensing requirements for health advocates.
