Data Governance Managers

High School

Take classes in business, mathematics, statistics, and computer science (especially data science and analytics, artificial intelligence, and database management) in high school to prepare for college-level study. Other recommended courses include English, writing, and speech. Take advantage of any opportunities that are available to work with and manage data in school clubs or school office support positions.

Postsecondary Education

A minimum of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in information management, computer science, information systems, data science/analytics, business administration, or a related field is required to become a data governance manager.

Certification

The tech association ISACA offers a variety of certificate programs that allow students to learn more about particular fields and expand their expertise. Programs include digital trust ecosystem framework foundation, information technology risk fundamentals, cybersecurity fundamentals, artificial intelligence fundamentals, and data science fundamentals. Other Education or Training

Online learning platforms also provide educational opportunities.
