Music Venue Owners and Managers

Earnings

Earnings for music venue owners and managers depend on their experience and education, as well as the size and success of their club. General and operations managers (the category under which the U.S. Department of Labor classifies small business managers and owners) earned median annual salaries of $101,280 in May 2023. Fifty percent of general and operations managers earned between $65,180 and $160,290. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $46,340, and the highest paid 10 percent earned $232,110 or more per year. Club managers and owners who are certified typically earn higher salaries than those who are not certified.

Large venues may provide full-time managers with paid vacation, health, disability, life insurance, and retirement or pension plans. Smaller venues offer fewer or no fringe benefits. Owners must provide their own benefits.
