Outlook
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) does not provide job outlook growth specifically for music venue owners and managers. However, the DOL projects that employment for facilities managers (all fields) is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all careers through 2033. Opportunities will not be as good because the field is relatively small. On the other hand, there are many opportunities for facilities managers outside the music performance industry.
Although music streaming has become extremely popular, nothing can replace the experience of seeing a performance live and therefore, music venue owners and managers will always be in demand. Competition will be strong for opportunities at the best-known music venues. Opportunities will be best for those owners and managers who can blend knowledge about the musical world with business acumen, specifically using social media to promote their venue.
